We know that food is much more than sustenance at St Nicholas – it’s key to comfort, culture, and community. That’s why we celebrate our kitchen and the wonderful team behind it. Their dedication and high standards earned us a 5-star rating from the Brisbane City Council in April 2025, which is a fantastic testament to the care they put into every dish.

Our chefs prepare all meals freshly on-site, offering both Greek and non-Greek cuisine. The kitchen team strives to meet individual preferences and cater to all cultural backgrounds wherever possible, making sure every resident’s dining experience is comforting and feels just like home.

We believe nutritious eating should also be enjoyable. That’s why our menus are planned in consultation with a qualified dietitian to ensure every meal is balanced and suited to our resident’s needs. When you arrive, we make personalisation a priority: a diet preference form is completed right away, and the Kitchen Supervisor will personally discuss your food preferences with you. Our Carers and Nursing staff constantly communicate residents likes and dislikes to the kitchen, so your meals are always enjoyable and personalised.

To keep things fresh, the dietitian regularly reviews the menu and meets with residents to gather feedback. Fiona, our Kitchen Supervisor also remains current on resident requests by receiving updates from the Resident Committee meetings. You’ll find our menus clearly displayed in Greek and English daily in the dining rooms, and our staff is always happy to assist with your selection. All special diets and food allergies are managed carefully by our catering team, working closely with our doctor and dietitian. At St Nicholas, we take pride in offering meals that warm your heart and help you feel perfectly at home.

Meet Fiona

Fiona has been an invaluable part of the St. Nicholas family for over 14 years. Originally from Cyprus, she brought her rich heritage to Brisbane to build a new life and raise a family. 

Her deepest passion is for creating fresh, authentic food that warms the soul and evokes the nostalgia and joy of sharing a good meal. Dedicated to meeting the tastes, preferences, and dietary needs of every resident, Fiona and her kitchen team make every meal from scratch, in-house. From traditional Moussaka and Stuffed Vegetables, to freshly baked Bread, Dips and authentic sweets, her balanced meals deliver both essential nutrition, and pure enjoyment.
