Lifestyle Program

A Person Centred Approach

Diversional therapy at St Nicholas is a person-centered practice rooted in the belief that engaging in leisure, recreation, and meaningful activities is essential for overall health and well-being. This holistic approach aims to promote, restore, and maintain every resident’s psychological health, spiritual life, social engagement, emotional stability, and physical capabilities.
To support this, we take special care to offer a wide range of activities seven days a week, including:
  • Creative Arts: Painting, music wellbeing, and crafts.
  • Physical Activities: Gentle exercise and adapted strength-based activities.
  • Cognitive Stimulation: Discussion groups, puzzles, and games.
  • Sensory Enrichment: Aromatherapy, massage, and pet therapy.
  • Social Activities: Group games, outings, and cultural celebrations.

Diversional Therapy

At St Nicholas, our lifestyle and diversional therapy is central to providing a high quality of life. These personalised programs offer connection and engagement by focusing on each resident’s unique needs, including physical movement, memory exercises, and creative expression. By stimulating recall of fond early memories, these activities provide significant comfort and joy.

Our calendar features a popular music program, choir, and music therapy in both Greek and English. We also cherish our intergenerational programs, which bring children and babies into the Home to connect with residents, creating heartwarming moments for the entire St Nicholas community.
