Workshop – Supporting Families Through Aged Care Transition.

When a loved one moves into aged care, the experience can stir up a wide range of emotions for the whole family. It’s not just a change in location, it’s a transition that can bring uncertainty, worry, and even grief, alongside the hope for new support and connection. Families often find themselves asking: How do we support our loved one through this change? How do we also look after ourselves and each other?
To help navigate this important stage of life with compassion and clarity, St Nicholas is proud to host Father Dimitri Tsakas for a special evening workshop:
DATE: Wednesday 22 October
TIME: 6.45pm for 7:00pm start
WHERE: St Nicholas, 19 Hampstead Road, Highgate Hill
DONATE: $20 per person (all proceeds go directly to St Nicholas Aged Care)

Over the course of two hours, Father Dimitri will share his wisdom and experience in supporting families during the transition into aged care. This interactive session will explore:
  • How to approach the move with understanding and empathy
  • Supporting your loved one while also caring for yourself
  • Finding hope and meaning in the midst of change
  • Strengthening family connections during challenging times
This workshop offers both practical guidance and emotional support and a chance to reflect, learn, and connect with others who may be facing similar experiences.

Saint Nicholas Day 2025 – Save the Date

We will be celebrating St Nicholas Day on Sunday, 7 December at our St Nicholas home.Our heartfelt thanks go to the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society of Saint George, who make this such a special occasion each year. Paniyiri Festival Celebrates 50 Years

Australia’s largest and longest running Greek festival celebrates its 50th year in 2026 and it promises to be the biggest and most spectacular yet. St Nicholas Aged Care will be there again. We will provide more updates as to what you can expect at our stall in the new year.
